Let’s throwback for a moment…

When was the last time you saw a Rocky movie? If you’re a fan of the 7 sequel franchise, this will be easy for you. Close your eyes; what is the first scene that comes to mind? Picture Rocky Balboa training and enduring insane workouts to reach a defining moment. You might remember him punching slabs of raw meat, chugging down raw eggs, climbing up all 72 steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, or making it to the top of an icy mountain. Now picture all those efforts WITHOUT the well-known song “Eye of the Tiger”. Imagine watching it all in silence. Watch the video below both with and without the sound and take note of the difference.

The difference is EMOTION, MOTIVATION and ENERGY. Directors know very well that a soundtrack, even a single song, both musically and lyrically will compel people to connect, to understand, to relate, to remember, to move, to push, to speak up and to succeed.

The same can be said for Flashdance during Jessica Beals amazing audition to “What a Feeling”. Without this song, that dance and her efforts to keep going would not have been as impactful. (The video is also below for your visual pleasure).

There are many times when we may require outward inspiration to help us tap in to that internal motivation. Whether via music, art, books, poetry, movies or even other people, if you listen closely, or read between the lines, inspirational and motivational messages are there for the taking.

Those verses, either in a book, a song, a movie or in someone’s speech: or the beauty of an art piece can compel us all to speak up about something. The purpose of this blog is to hopefully help you find YOUR “Eye of the Tiger” moment.

    1. Franz, thank you so much for the nomination. I’m humbled and honored that you added me to your list. Anytime I receive a comment notification it makes my day. So I am doubly thankful. And I too hate horror movies. Nothing original about a slasher after stupid teen kids with a machete.

  1. Oh you have no idea how many times I’ve been labelled as ‘complicated’. I never used to agree with it before but now I’ve accepted it as a part of myself. LOVED you honest and quirky introduction !
So nice to meet you. Gonna stick around here ! Hoping to see you more often.
    With Love,
    Zee <3

    1. Zee, thank you so much for visiting and I’m so happy to make the acquaintance of a fellow complicated woman. Be proud of it. Run with it. You are an enigma to many. Looking forward to your future opinions and comments. Welcome to the Pretty Platform.

  2. Great goods from you, man. I’ve understand your stuff previous to and you’re just too great.
I really like what you have acquired here, certainly like what you’re stating and
the way in which you say it. You make it entertaining and you still take care of to keep it wise.
I can not wait to read much more from you. This is actually a tremendous site.

    1. Mara, I apologize for the delayed response on your kind nomination. It’s always a “feel good” moment for sure. I’m just super excited anytime someone reads and comments. I’ll get to this at once!

Hey there just wanted to give you a quick heads up.
The text in your content seem to be running off the screen in Chrome.
I’m not sure if this is a format issue or something to do
with browser compatibility but I thought I’d post to let
you know. The style and design look great though!
Hope you get the issue solved soon. Many thanks

    1. Celine, thanks so much for bringing this to my attention. I’ll continue to look in to it since I’m on Chrome and I’m not actually seeing the issue. On my computer the format is showing fine. But I’m concerned as to if others like yourself are seeing it differently, and why. Thank you again for your concern and alert. By the way, love your sight. Thanks for visiting.

  4. You really make it appear really easy along with your presentation but I to
find this matter to be really one thing which I believe I
would never understand. It sort of feels too complex and very broad for me.
I am having a look ahead for your subsequent post, I’ll attempt to get the dangle of it!

    1. Thanks for visiting. Nothing in life should be that complex. My husband says that all can be resolved with Math. Try that. I’m a bit doubtful on that theory, but hey, I may be wrong. Hope you’ll keep visiting and giving me your input.

    1. What’s so sad about my rants??!!! Just kidding. Glad my rants can touch you in many ways. Who needs a man when you have The Pretty Platform!

Loving your blog as well. Inspires me to look prettier.

  5. Wow that was odd. I just wrote an incredibly long
comment but after I clicked submit my comment didn’t show up.
Grrrr… well I’m not writing all that over again. Anyways, just wanted to
    say superb blog!

    1. Oh no, first I am so sorry that happened. Secondly, it’s going to kill me not knowing what you originally wrote. I will imagine up all these awesome comments about my blog. How it’s changing your life and that I’m your all time favorite person in the whole world.

      Superb blog is awesome too.

Thanks for visiting and pass on the good word. Happy blogging!!!

    1. Oh my, that’s so awesomely nice of you. I try to be humble in life, but no way am i’m not going to accept this award. hahaha. You are so kind to say that you found my blog inspiring. I’m printing that out because that in itself is my award. So what do I do next. Just click on the link you sent and accept?

      1. Aaww, it’s great if the nomination pleased you! The link should lead you to a page on my blog with all the info you need — actually, it’s a bit more complicated in that you are supposed to nominate other bloggers for the award you got. But I believe it’s OK to twist the requirements a bit and make it easier for you if it’s too much to deal with it! Just ask if there’s anything unclear 🙂

  6. I had a chicken nugget meal as well as an additional cheeseburger at lunchtime! I blamed it on the baby (I’m 33 weeks pregnant!). Now I’m thinking about what to have for breakfast as I can’t actually sleep, the baby hiccups have stopped but I still can’t get comfortable. And of course it would be the night I have to be up at 6:30 to help my husband out with his charity market stall. I’ve been blogging for something like 7 or 8 years now. Still haven’t cracked it lol.

    1. Hannah, well at least you have Blueberry to blame for your cravings. I have no excuse. Congrats on the baby. With 3 boys of my own, you are in for the adventure of a lifetime and also constant inspiration for your blog. Hey, this just may be the thing to get you published one day. Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoy everything else I have to say. I’m sort of a love me, hate me kind of gal.

    1. Thank you so much. I keep trying to make it more visually pleasing. I want my readers to want to search through the site in an easy uncomplicated manner. Thanks for the feedback.

    1. Thank you so much for dropping by. Don’t be a stranger. Looking forward to your future comments and/or critiques. Your opinion is always welcomed here.
